Once upon a time it could be truthfully said that the vast majority of corporations were run by CEOs who were supporters of the Republican Party.
Back in those days, the GOP could be counted on to reliably push back against Democratic expansion of government power through the imposition of rules and regulations that enlarged the administrative branch, so to speak, which was usually weaponized against the free market and corporate influence.
But those days are over. Now, corporate CEOs have gone full “woke” and are pandering, literally, to every left-wing cause and moment.
Part of that is because the CEOs want to please big government lawmakers. The other reason is that increasingly, CEOs are a product of our ‘woke’ indoctrination ‘education’ system.
But either way, choosing a side always means alienating the other side, and that’s what’s happening here.
A new group misnamed the Civic Alliance that purports to support American concepts like democracy and ‘voting rights’ now has more than 1,100 corporate members, all of which have committed to destroying traditional American values and constitutional principles.
“As a coalition of businesses, we use our voice, our brand, and our reach to strengthen our democracy. We support safe, accessible, and trusted elections, and we inspire our employees and customers to participate in civic life,” the alliance says on its website.
WorldNetDaily added:
However, the objective of making elections “accessible” translates to opposition to laws such as Georgia’s that seek to ensure that every vote represents a legitimate voter and that voters are not disenfranchised.
Amid the controversy over Georgia’s law, the Civic Alliance issued a letter last Friday condemning any effort to “restrict” ballot access, signed by 200 companies, including Salesforce, ViacomCBS and The Estée Lauder Companies.
“Companies have their fingers on the pulse of what’s going on with their consumers and employees, and this is a priority for folks and so companies are making it a priority for themselves,” said Mike Ward, co-founder of the Civic Alliance, according to NBC News.
In part, the letter said, “We stand in solidarity with voters – and with the Black executives and leaders at the helm of this movement – in our nonpartisan commitment to equality and democracy,” adding that there are “hundreds of bills threatening to make voting more difficult in dozens of states nationwide.”
In reality, those measures are not aimed at “making voting more difficult” but rather making voting more secure and trustworthy, especially after the Democrat-led fiasco in several states last fall that resulted in their stealing the election and installing Joe Biden, a brain-addled decrepit who is barely functional and whom they can control. (Related: Powerful, wealthy corporations continue to pay NO federal taxes while Biden plans to sock it to wage earners to fund more COVID bailouts.)
But this misnamed organization now has a challenger: A group called StopCorporateTyranny.
Described as center-right in terms of political philosophy, the organization bills itself as “a one-stop shop for educational resources exposing the Left’s nearly completed takeover of corporate America, along with resources and tools for everyday Americans to fight back against the Left’s woke and censoring mob in the corporate lane.”
“We reject the Left’s weaponization of corporate America against traditional beliefs and values. We work to dissuade corporations from engaging in activities that undermine free enterprise, individual liberty, limited government, free speech and the rule of law. Companies must instead return to their primary role—as fiduciaries for their investors,” the group notes further on its “About” page.
“We seek to restore a healthy understanding of, and respect for, liberty, free enterprise and American culture all of which is being corrupted by corporate oligarchs.”
The group seeks to restore a corporate environment where companies don’t take sides, left or right, but rather exist for the sole purpose of growing their brand, increasing in value for their shareholders, and serving all Americans equally, without regard to politics.
It’s about time; they deserve our support. Join their mailing list to stay up-to-date.
